Décès de Walter Dioni
Posté : 04 oct. 2014 17:24
Bonjour à tous,
Je viens d'apprendre le décès de Walter Dioni, au hasard d'une visite sur le site Micscape.
Voici le message du responsable du site, daté du 25 septembre (en ligne ici.
Une grande perte de plus dans notre petit monde...
Walter Dioni: Sadly we have heard from his daughter that Walter, who was one of our longest running and most active contributors, quietly passed away a few days ago surrounded by family members and with doctors present.
He was greatly touched by all the messages of goodwill which he received and my colleague Maurice completed a book compilation of his essays on 'Safe Microscopic Techniques for Amateurs' which he received a copy of and was delighted with. Maurice was able to pass on the proceeds to help pay for his medical fees.
His daughter told us that during his illness he was working on a paper for publication on a potential new species with help from his son, which illustrates his lifelong passion for the microscopic world and his eagerness to share it.
Our sympathies to his family. Walter's contributions to Micscape are compiled here. Any messages can be passed on to his family via Maurice (see Main Index).
